【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversbrickintendedforuseasthelininginthefireboxesofresidentialfireplaces.1.2Fireboxbrickaremanufacturedfromclay,fireclay,shale,orsimilarnaturallyoccurringearthysubstancesandsubjectedtoaheattreatmentatelevatedtemperatures(firing).Theheattreatmentmustdevelopafiredbondbetweentheparticulateconstituentstoprovidethestrengthanddurabilityrequirementsofthisspecification(seeTerminologyC1232).Note18212;Fireboxbrickaretypicallyinstalledusinggroundfireclaymortarorrefractorymortar.Mortarjointsaretypically1/8in.(3.2mm)thick,justthickenoughtoaccommodatedimensionalvariationsinthefireboxbrick.1.3Thetextofthisspecificationreferencesnotesandfootnotesthatprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthisspecification.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.
